This site, developed by the United Nations, contains links to a variety of current world issues and is useful for student research. The County at a Glance features an interactive map. By clicking on a country students and teachers go to a page that contains an overview of the country including information on the country's economy, environment, health and technology. The Infonation section allows students to easily compare up to six countries in areas such as population, technology, health, economy and the environment. Hint: click on the country name when displayed in a graph and you will be taken to the country's "At a Glance" page. The site is available in English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic and Russian.
