I went through the \"Blackout Syndrome\" activity and thought that it was an excellent supplement to a grade 11 or 12 biology course. I have my students create their own biology mystery and I think that this is a wonderful way to expose them to this task. It uses biology from the class to solve the mystery. There is a lot of reading to go through so I would only recommend this to academic classes. This mystery could be improved if there were pictures of the evidence provided (e.g. a picture of gram positive bacilli or the Amyrillis belladona plant).
