REVIEW
Thinkgreen.com offers teachers and students, as well as the environmentally conscious public, information and resources related to how landfills are built (including diagrams and cut-away images), how landfill gas is used to create energy, how waste is used to generate energy and relevant information about recycling. It also provides a general understanding of what really happens to our garbage once it leaves the curbside. Most relevant for students and teachers is the "Waste as a Resource" section where students can interactively learn how the decomposition of a pear can produce a clean, renewable source of energy, how solid waste can be used to produce clean electrical power, how recycling can save our resources, and how landfills can be reused for recreation such as golf courses and bike parks. Visitors to the site can also read about how Waste Management's projects are working in particular areas of the country.
