Provides free online workshops and courses in Arts, Education Theory and Issues, History and Social Studies , Literature and Language Arts , Mathematics, and Science. These are appropriate for preservice and inservice teachers, and are targeted to specific curricular areas and grade levels. Provides training in content areas and educational theory and practice, as well as supplemental video programs called teaching practices libraries that give a "fly-on-the-wall" view of real teachers in real classrooms. Workshops and courses consist of video, print, and Web components that can be used in group sessions or on your own. The site recommends participating with a group to get the benefits from discussion with your colleagues, including participants around the country on email discussion lists called "Channel-Talk". Participation is FREE and registration is required. Video programs are broadcast on the Annenberg Channel and are available as Video on Demand (VoD) on the Web site. Print guides are downloadable in PDF format. Certificates of Participation are provided to those working in groups which can be used for inservice or recertification credit. For a reasonable cost, graduate credit is available for courses and most workshops.
