My students complete lab work in groups. I have had them use google docs to write-up their lab reports. Overall, I have found the quality of the discussion and analysis has improved as it is easier for each student to each contribute (at least those who are interested!) rather than what happened previously when they just split up the different sections and one person was stuck with having to do the discussion/analysis themselves because they could never get their act together and meet to discuss.
